In 1899, David and Jenny Curry opened a tented camp so that visitors could enjoy the beauty of Yosemite for a modest price. They advertised "a good bed and clean napkin with every meal". Today, Curry Village®, otherwise known around Yosemite as Camp Curry, still offers park visitors comfortable, inexpensive lodging right in the shadow of spectacular Glacier Point and Half Dome. Towels, sheets, blankets and pillows are provided but the beds are not made up and although daily maid service is not provided, someone will come by and empty your trash and provide fresh towels.
